Do you belong to a service organization that schedules guest speakers? Are you an educator looking for enrichment programs for your students?

Special Collections can provide speakers for a variety of topics related to archives, libraries, and the department's holdings. We can tailor our talks to the goals of your organization, program, or class.

Among the topics about which we can speak are:

  • Swing and the Big Bands.
  • How to do research in an archives.
  • What is an archivist?
  • The History of Tulane University.
  • The Internet for historians.
  • What is an archives?
  • How do archives help protect democratic values?
  • The differences between corporate archives, research archives, and special collections
We can also provide a speaker for your class who will teach your students about the purpose of an archives, how to do original archival research, and how properly to handle archival documents.
