There are more than 25 collections with an emphasis upon technical matters. These are mainly the personal and professional papers of New Orleanians who have been engaged in scientific and technical work. Included in the papers are those of:

• John Thompson Hayward, England, OK and FLA inventor, ca. 22 cu.ft.
• John A. Klorer, LA engineer, 160 items (1920-1943)
• Robert James Kuhn, LA electrical engineer, 76 items (1928-1975)
• Joseph Lakanal, France and LA scientist, 7 items, including 1 volume (1793-1823)
• George Peterkin Meade, LA sugar chemist, 6 volumes (1932-1942)
