Gill is a graduate of the University of Liverpool in England and has worked as a journalist for more than 30 years. He immigrated 19 years ago, and since 1979 has been with the Times Picayune, where he writes three OpEd columns a week.
He is the author of the just-published Lords of Misrule and of two books on thoroughbred racing and breeding. He also contributes a column to a monthly magazine in England, and is working on a book about Louisiana politics.

Dr. Charles Prosser, columnist for the Baton Rouge Morning Advocate, will speak April 20 on the philosopy of medicine.
