ALIC: The Archives Library Information Center
This service of the United States National Archives and Records Administration's library  includes ready-reference hyperlinks to a variety of subjects useful to archivists, including American history and government, archival administration, information management, government documents, military resources, pertinent laws, copyright regulations, other legal resources, biographical and geographical resources, and even online telephone books. It is a wonderful resource.

 

ARC: The Archives Resource Center
The Archives Resource Center (ARC) is maintained and sponsored by the Council of State Archivists and contains links to program resources developed by and for US state archives and records programs.

Maintained by the  Archives Association of British Columbia, the Archivist's Toolkit is designed as a community resource for persons working primarily in small and medium-sized archives. It includes resources for establishing an archives, arrangement & description, appraisal and accessioning, reference and access, automation and digitization,  emergency planning, and more.

The AT is the first open source archival data management system to provide integrated support for accessioning, description, donor tracking, name and subject authority work, and location management for archival materials, created by the University of California, San Diego, New York University, and the Five Colleges, Inc.

 

Introduction to Archival Organization and Description

This online tutorial provides an introduction to principles of organization and description used in archives as a first step toward acquiring the knowledge and skills needed to provide access to the rich cultural heritage information in archival collections. It also offers links to additional resources for further archival training such as workshops, readings, professional organizations, archival education programs and conferences.

 

National Union Catalog of Manuscript Collections
An excellent archival resource, this site contains information about NUCMC and much much more, including:

Conservation OnLine: Resources for Conservation Professionals
CoOl LogoCoOL, a project of the Preservation Department of Stanford University Libraries, is a full-text library of conservation information. It covers a wide spectrum of topics regarding the conservation of library, archives and museum materials, including links to various preservation topics, people, organizations, mailing lists, and more. It is maintained by Walter Henry of the Stanford University Libraries.
