We are in the process of publishing photographs and descriptions of the MARI textile collection on this web site. Not all locations have been entered into this database. Currently, this site contains most of the Guatemalan textile collection held at the Middle American Research Institute of Tulane University, as well as some textiles from Mexico. More from Mexico and other countries will be added as they become available.
Most of the textiles from Guatemala published on this website were given to the Middle American Research Institute by Matilda Geddings Gray or by her relatives. She assembled most of this collection in Guatemala in 1935 while on the John Geddings Gray Memorial Expedition.
