Health Sciences OCLC Users Group (HSOCLCUG)


Membership is open to all who are interested in the purposes of Health Sciences OCLC Users Group (HSOCLCUG). The membership year is July through June, and dues are $10.00 (U.S.) per year; institutional membership is also available for $25.00 (U.S.) per year.

Members receive Start of Message (SOM), the Group's official newsletter as published in print or electronic form. Members joining prior to the publication deadline are included in the Membership Directory. HSOCLCUG's Administrative Secretary provides information on all matters relating to membership. An annual password for membership access is provided to members each year.

* Institutional members shall be libraries currently using OCLC. Each institution member has a designated representative who shall have one vote and may hold office. This representative shall be any person designated in writing by the institution at the time of payment of dues, unless otherwise and later designated in writing by the institution at least five weeks before the annual meeting or mailing of ballots in which the representative is to vote.

* Individual members shall be persons who are interested in this organization and its objectives. All individual members may vote and hold office. One person may cast two votes only if eligible as an active institution's representative and as an individual member.

* Members remit annual dues to the Group. Dues cover a fiscal year which runs from July 1 to June 30.

How do I complete the application?

  2. Print out the blank form and complete it either with a typewriter or by hand.
  3. Mail the completed form with a check or money order to:

Renewed your membership?

Contact the Admnistrative Secretary to verify if you have paid your dues for the current year or if you have any questions about the status of your membership. The directory is updated regularly. The print membership directory is published each October.

Members wishing to join a committee or comment on an issue should contact the President or President-elect. A list with contacts of the current elected officers and the executive board is available from the homepage.

Starting with 2002-2003, members will be given a password with their annual paid membership for acess to restricted web features, such as the current newsletter and the Membership Directory.
