Finding information on Forensic Psychiatry

Medline

Ovid – Structured, guided Medline searching. Suggests MeSH headings and limits with subheading topic categories.

PubMed – Excellent for a quick Medline search, and also has MeSH and subheading features. Search Clinical Queries to easily find systematic reviews, etiology, diagnosis, therapy and prognosis.

Evidence Based Medicine- Ovid – All EBM Reviews includes Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews. Link out from Ovid, most EBM databases are full-text.

  • Lexis-Nexis – Search specific legal cases or legal information by topic.
  • PsycINFO- APA database contains scholarly journal articles, book chapters, books, and dissertations.
  • PILOTS – Post traumatic stress disorder and other mental health issues as a result of traumatic events. Searches journals, books, book chapters, pamphlets, technical reports. Includes tests & measures.
  • Sociological Abstracts – Literature, including dissertations, in sociology and related disciplines.
  • Social Services Abstracts – Covers community and mental health services, family and social welfare, and crisis intervention.
  • Mental Measurement Yearbook – Summaries of testing instruments.

Web of Science – Search by author or subject and find how many times an article or book chapter has been cited. Find articles that cite an author or work.

SCIRUS - A science-specific search engine, find peer-reviewed articles, reports, web sites and more.
