The course visited Nim Po't and had a demonstration on how to spin.  The teachers and students learned that weaving is not an easy task, first you have to separate the cotton fibers from the seeds.

Once all the cotton is separated from the seed, you have to flatten it out so that it connects and is easier to spin.

Ixk'aqo', the short fiber indigenous brown cotton, is hard to work, hard to spin, but good for Mayan Santas.
