CRIME ALERT

ARMED ROBBERY

THURSDAY MAY 8, 1997 4:28 P.M.

At 4:28 P.M. on Thursday, May 8, 1997 the parking lot attendant in an area surface level parking lot located in the 1300 block of Cleveland Street was armed robbed by an unknown subject.

The parking attendant reported that the subject approached the parking booth and requested change for a twenty dollar bill. The subject was told by the attendant that she could not open the register unless a transaction was completed. The subject waited outside the booth until a transaction was finished. The subject returned to the attendant booth, displayed and unknown type handgun and demanded the money from the cash drawer. The subject then walked away exiting the lot on South Villere Street and then fled in an unknown direction. The subject is described as a Black Male, 20-25 years old , 5' 9"-6' 0" , slender build, 180 pounds, with a gold tooth, wearing a white t-shirt, black or blue hat, dark color jean shorts and white tennis shoes. An undetermined amount of money was taken.

NOPD Eighth District Detectives Ronnie Pugh and Debbie Propser are investigating under item number E-13548-97.
