What: The Round Goby is a 7 to 10 inch bottom-dwelling fish.

Originated From: Black and Caspian Seas.

How it arrived: It arrived in the ballast water of ships.

It's Spreading to: The Great Lakes, streams, and rivers. Map

Threat: The Round Goby is an aggressive fish which has a high survival rate.

Damage: These fish out-competes the native fishes in terms of food and space.

Control: Construction of an electrical dispersion barrier is underway. This will attempt to deter the fish from traveling further.
