Povery Point Field Trip (Day 3, Oct. 7, 2001)

 Below are some images of the third day of our field trip. Today it was Old River and the St. Francisville Ferry. We were home before 6:00 P.M.

 

Rogues' Gallery III: On the St. Francisville Ferry

Rosewood in the morning. (L): Arlene Kidder (pronounced KeeDare) prepares breakfast; (R) a hungry crew munches down on eggs, sausage and biscuits.

From Rosewood we traveled north to the Corps of Engineers facility at Old River. here we toured the Old River control structure and the Sidney A. Murray Hydroelectric Plant. We had beautiful weather and it was a glorious day.

At the visitors center Scott Wall and Ralph Lockhoff (on right) explain the working of the Old River complex.

On to the Low Sill Structure at Old River. (L and R) views of the Low Sill Structure.
