Scope and Contents note
This collection includes an array of material relating to Newcomb College Athletics and its individual athletes from 1975-1982. The bulk of the material includes newspaper articles, photographs, sport-specific files for each season, individual player files, sporting event brochures, handbooks for the Association for Intercollegiate Athletics for Women (AIAW), and five Special Awards plaques.The material may be of interest to those who participated in Newcomb College Athletics during the above mentioned years, or those researching past AIAW policies, or those interested in the history of athletics.
Organization and Arrangement
The material is contained in four (4) storage boxes. All metal fasteners have been removed. All material in folders have been re-foldered and labeled. Copies of newspaper articles deemed in deteriorating condition have been made and placed in folders directly after folders containing the original clippings, and are labeled "Copies."
