General note
This is a scrapbook detailing many aspects of the wedding of Augusta Waldhorn and Henry Dennery, November 19, 1907. It is a beautiful album, prefabricated by publisher Frederick A. Stokes Company in 1900, and filled by Augusta Dennery Waldhorn, according to prescribed headings. It would be a wonderful tool for anyone interested in the Waldhorn and Dennery families, for social historians interested in weddings, for those interested in the history of the New Orleans Jewish community, and for those interested in dress in the early part of the twentieth century.
Twenty-six items are listed on an in-house inventory that is available upon request. These items include birth certificates of the groom; the marriage certificate; record of dates of first meeting and engagement; photos of bride, groom and wedding; various memorabilia of honeymoon on train to and within New York City, as well as from France. Belgium, and Mexico. In addition, there is extensive information on wedding gifts and the names of wedding guests.
