Biographical/Historical note

Suzanne Foster Fincher graduated from Newcomb in 1962. For most of her adult life she lived in Conyers, Ga. An art therapist, Fincher founded the Atlanta Art Therapy Institute. She was also a member of the Conyers City Council. Her book, “Creating Mandalas,” was published in 1991.

Scope and Contents note

The 69 folders in Box 1 include information on the founding, organization, faculty, and students of the Atlanta Art Therapy Institute.

The 134 folders in Box 2 include information on workshops and classes given by AATI and held either there or at other locations.

The 36 folders in Box 3 include information on the production of Fincher’s book “Creating Mandalas” and associated materials. Foreign language translations (Dutch, German, Portuguese, Italian, and French) of this book as well as the Japanese translation of “Coloring Mandalas” are in this file.

The 60 folders in Box 4 deal with Fincher’s education, licensing and “Journey into Wholeness.”

The 94 folders in Box 5 deal with workshops, consultations, classes and Fincher’s Art Reach trip to Sarajevo.

The 59 folders in Box 6 are concerned with mandalas and mandala workshops.
