General note

Patricia "Patsy" Freeland, T-N History 2013?, received a Student Newcomb Fellows Grant 2009-2010 with a proposal "Voices from Katrina: Women of the Ninth Ward." This collection contains oral histories from Alice Craft-Kerney, Linda Gielec, Sherry "Miss Leddy" Milam, Laura Paul, Shantell Victor, and Nancy Zehr burned onto Archival Gold CDs, and the Tulane University Human Research Protection Office Social/Behavioral IRB Consent Form for Participation in a Research Study forms signed by Patsy and each of the participants.

Patricia gave a presentation of her project on February 18, 2011, as part of Fridays at Newcomb lecture series - a flyer advertising the talk is included: "Women have been at the forefront of the movement to restore the Lower Ninth Ward. Patricia, along with her guest, Alice Craft-Kearney [sic], director of the Lower Ninth Ward Health Clinic, will present on women leaders in the Lower Ninth Ward."
