Scope and Contents note

This collection contains two books: 1. "Laurel Hill & Later: The record of a teacher" by Pierce Butler (this book is signed by the author). 2. "A Brief History of H. Sophie Newcomb Memorial College" by Brandt V.B. Dixon (this book is inscribed to Mary Nelson by the author and was given to her in 1934 as one of the graduates of that year elected to Phi Beta Kappa). The collection also includes three sets of address cards related to Newcomb alumnae and a collection of programs and notices for meetings, plays, etc. taking place in New Orleans (many at Tulane) mostly in 1938.
