Biographical/Historical note

Maya Schrimer Hackett was born to Swiss parents in Berlin duirng WWII. As an adult, she worked as a journalist in New Orleans. Other employment included work for the Embassy of Japan in Germany, the Swiss Consulate General in New Orleans, and the Swiss Embassy in Washington, DC.

Scope and Contents note

This collection, with documents whose dates range from the 1930s through 2012 contains various university documents in French and German, and other official documents in Swiss German from the Swiss Embassy/Consulate in New Orleans and Washington, DC. Also included are various letters, playbills, writings, drawings, and memorabilia from Maya Hackett's personal life including copies of paintings and correspondence from New Orleanian Phyllis Parun.
