Scope and Contents note

The donated material gives a sense of Kathleen Lemoine’s itinerary as an artist. Besides a multitude of slides of her artwork, the collection also entails information about the juried shows for which she was selected and other exhibitions to which she participated. Correspondence with art galleries, newspaper and magazine articles about her and her work, and day-planners documenting her day-to-day activities in a journal format all contribute to understanding her life as an artist.

9) 9" x 7" "Success" 1995 Appointbook Weekly with metal spirals: Most days have journal-type entries, with information about the day's work (in particular art work and time spent in the studio), activities, encounters, etc. Other entries include appointments, meetings, and schedule. Stapled to almost each page are receipts for art supplies, photo supply, and other miscellaneous expenses. There are also receipts from Michael's, Home Depot, Eckerd Drug Store, the post office, etc. Staples were not removed at this time to preserve the chronology and position of the receipts on each page.

10) 9" x 7" "DayMinder" 1996 Weekly Planner with metal spirals: Some days have entries that read like a journal, others list appointments, meetings, trips, etc. There are a lot of receipts stapled to the pages--e.g., receipts for art supplies and miscellaneous expenses. Staples were not removed at this time.

11) 12.5" x 8" 1997 Standard Diary: A few days in January and February have journal entries, but most pages have been left blank. However, there are letters, receipts, art exhibit announcements, and other miscellaneous items stapled to pages throughout the diary. Staples have not been removed at this time.

12) One Sony CD-R compact disc with a file named "Baltimore July 2010" (which contains photographs): CD was placed in a plastic CD case

13) 3.5" thick black binder with 3 metal rings- Contains slides arranged in plastic slide binder sheets. Slides are of Lemoine's artwork. They are labeled with the names, size, and medium of the pieces. Some also indicate the year that the pieces were made. Interspersed between slide sheets are plastic sleeves that contain articles, correspondence pertaining to art exhibits and competitions (e.g., juried art exhibits, selections to art shows, etc.), photographs (which were placed in archival sleeves). Staples were removed from some documents found in the binder, as well as from art booklets. Booklets are:

14) 3.5" thick black binder with 3 metal rings- Binder contains plastic sleeves with slides. Most slides are labeled with the name of the piece, dimensions, and year it was made, but some slides are unlabeled. Binder also has plastic sleeves with correspondence about art exhibition and competitions, and photocopies of newspaper articles. In addition, binder includes several art booklets--most are in plastic sleeves (metal fasteners were removed from booklets):
