Scope and Contents note
This collection contains the research done by Jody Blake on Newcomb pottery, as well as other art pottery, exhibits at the World's Fairs from 1900 to 1915. Blake, who is an Assistant Professor at Bucknell University's Department of Art, began the research in a seminar at Tulane and continued it as an independent studies project. The collection is more or less organized in the following manner: materials on Newcomb pottery, materials in art pottery in general (other art potteries, art societies), background on the 20th Century World's Fairs/international exhibits, and materials on the individual fairs/expositions from Paris 1990 to San Francisco 1915. The great amount of research done by Ms. Blake can be seen in the collection's extensive Bibliography and Archive notes and note cards.

Papers have been placed in acid-free folders. The folder titles have been taken from the approximate organization of the letters as they were received.
