Biographical/Historical note
Betty Palmer was a painter in New Mexico during the late 1970s to early 2000. She was born in 1929 and her current whereabouts are unknown. She mailed her journals to the Newcomb College Center for Research on Women Archive Collection on June 6, 2001 from Bernadillo, New Mexico.
Scope and Contents note
This collection contains journals recording Betty Palmer's day to day activities from April 2, 1979 through October 12, 2000. The journals occasionally include to-do lists, book lists, painting lists, newspaper clippings, and personal correspondences. A few of the journals have notes with mailing information on the covers. The Betty Palmer collection would be of particular interest to those researching the lives of artists in the New Mexico area, particularly during the 1990s.
Organization and Arrangement
The materials in this collection have been arranged into four storage boxes. The material was originally received in one large box.The material was assigned a book number based on the order in which it was removed from the original box, and has been placed in chronological order.The papers in this collection have been unfolded, whenever possible, and all metal fasteners (including spiral binding) have been removed.
