Biographical/Historical note
Beatrice Reimers was born on July 15, 1929. She became a widow in 1962 and then remarried John Romanowski and became his second wife. She had one son named Ray with her former husband. She had two grandchildren. She lived in the Shavertown, PA area for most of her life and moved to Asheville, NC in 1994. Beatrice had many interests, a lot of them in the arts. She enjoyed going to local community arts festivals. She also enjoyed writing, photogrpahy, and creating music. Beatrice also enjoyed traveling around the world and America.
Scope and Contents note
This collection mostly contains the various writings of Beatrice Romanowski, including journals, planners, and letters. It also contains newspaper clippings, postcards, pamphlets, and brochures. Materials date from 1948 to 2011, but most of the material is from the range of 1960s-1980s.
Organization and Arrangement
Materials have been arranged in two large boxes. Materials have been arranged into folders with headings. The order of materials reflects the order in which it was received. If the materials came to us in a titled folder, the heading was kept the same. Otherwise, an appropriate heading was given based on subject matter.
