Biographical/Historical note
Mary Anne Pecot de Boisblanc was born in Labadieville, La. in 1925. In the late 1960s, de Boisblanc began painting to document her Acadian culture. She shared her work with others and was soon given a show in New Orleans. After that, she became a well-known artist famous for her colorful scenes of Cajun life from a bygone time.

The collection contains information about the Pecot, de Boisblanc, Prejean, and related families; articles and publications and writings and artwork by Mary Anne de Boisblanc.

Materials have been organized into two boxes containing 15 folders and a collection of signs shelved next to the boxes.
