Walk A Mile: The International Men's March to Stop Rape, Sexual Assault & Gender Violence

Tulane Women: tell your male friends to walk a mile in her shoes to stop
sexual violence. theWELL has hundreds of women’s shoes (mostly heels
but also sandals and flats) in men’s sizes for participants to wear.
Ladies are welcome, as theWELL has made beautiful posters for women to
cheer the men on as they walk a mile in her shoes. There will be snacks

National Leadership Conference Attendance Funding available

Newcomb Student Programs invites you to apply to participate in the
Annual LeaderShape Institute. A student will be selected to represent
the Newcomb College Institute and Tulane University for this incredible
opportunity. The LeaderShape Institute is an interactive, energizing,
and unique experience that inspires and motivates leaders to live in a
state of possibility and lead with integrity. As a participant, you
would attend a week-long session and experience a hands-on
multidimensional curriculum with respected professionals. There are
a number of sessions of the LeaderShape Institute scheduled for the
Summer of 2012. Tuition for a session is approximately $1500/person,
which is funded by the Newcomb College Institute. Transportation (to,
from, and during) will be the responsibility of the participant.

If you are selected and agree to attend a session, you are also
committing to use your newly acquired skills to co-facilitate the 2012
Newcomb Leadership Conference. This conference, conducted each Fall,
challenges undergraduate women at Tulane to recognize their own
leadership skills while exploring a variety of contemporary theories on
leadership through hands-on activities. If you are interested in
attending a session of the LeaderShape Institute, and want to earn the
opportunity to plan the 2010 Newcomb Leadership Conference, please

Tulane Associates Board Career Talk Series

There will be a career talk from 9-10 am at the Newcomb College
Institute for students interested in pursuing legal careers. The
featured speakers will be Tulane Alumnae and Associates Board members
Anne McCulloch and Lisa Cristal.
Anne Segrest McCulloch is a senior vice president and deputy general
counsel at Fannie Mae. She serves as divisional general counsel for
Fannie Mae’s Multifamily Mortgage Business and as head of corporate tax
and benefits law, leading a 41 person legal team with a budget of $11+
million supporting a $170B book of multifamily and community development
debt and equity investments. In this role she provides corporate
leadership on key mission initiatives addressing housing finance
liquidity and affordability. She also serves as a member of the
corporate senior management team. She is an active member of the Tulane
Associates Board and has a J.D. and B.A. from Tulane University.
Lisa Cristal is a legal counsel contract lawyer with Citigroup Inc. She
is an expert on Internet issues, licensing, trademarks, unfair
competition, copyrights, false advertising, and U.S. and foreign license
agreements. She has lectured nationally and internationally on Internet
and trademark law. She is co-author and editor of three books about
Trademark Law and the Internet. Lisa also helped establish a
not-for-profit organization to raise money to rebuild schools devastated
by Hurricane Katrina, and was a legal advocate for Partnership for
Children’s Rights. She is an active member of the Tulane Associates
Board and holds a B.A. in history from Tulane University and J.D. from
Washington University School of Law.

Under the Oaks is a ceremony honoring graduating women, outstanding
faculty, award and grant recipients, and the Newcomb College Class of
1962. We are in need of a few students to usher and help with setup/
takedown in Dixon Hall. It’s about a three-hour commitment on May 18,
lunch is provided, and we will verify your participation so you can
extend your residence hall move-out time.
