PLEN Women & Congress Seminar – Funding now available!
March 18-22, 2013. Applications Due by February 22.
Shape the policy debate happening now. College women, recent grads,
and young professionals are invited to launch their public policy
careers in Washington D.C. Join the Public Leadership Education Network
(PLEN) March 18-22, 2013 for Women & Congress, D.C.’s premiere
leadership seminar for young women interested in policy. 2012 was a
groundbreaking year for women in Congressional leadership. Learn from
members of the House and Senate, their staff, and how to launch your
career in political leadership. You'll meet policymakers, discuss policy
issues, network with women leaders and mentors, and explore career
opportunities. Newcomb can provide grants to cover the costs of the
conference. Applications are available on the NCI website at

Global Health Leaders Across Multicultural Women (GLAM) meeting on research and funding opportunities

Dr. Talarchek from the Center for Engaged Learning and Teaching
(CELT) will be discussing with us about research and funding
opportunities currently available! We will be having food from the Pita
Pit, learning a bit about Mortar Board, the national senior honor
society (JUNIORS - this is for you!), making our last batch of safe sex
packets, and finally more about how you can get involved with Tulane One
Billion RISING, a "global strike" utilizes dance to strike against rape

GLAM is also excited to be hosting yet another workshop on
Networking skills with Kathy Ball! Thursday, Feb 28th, 6-7:30pm at the
LBC conference room 208.
Looking to learn new digital media skills or just need a computer? Visit the Collat Lab.
The Collat Media Lab is a Mac lab stocked with some of the latest
digital media software applications, including Photoshop, Illustrator,
InDesign and Dreamweaver and Final Cut Pro. Video cameras and flip
cams are also available for checkout. Stop by and visit the lab
on the second floor of the Caroline Richardson Building. For more

Tulane International Society Presents the International Language of Love: "Power Dynamics in Relationships"

Men who have sex with men (MSM) and transgender women (TW) experience
unique barriers to health services due to social marginalization related
to their gender identity and sexual orientation. Evidence of the
detrimental effects of such stigma can elucidate new opportunities for
reducing barriers to health services for MSM and TW.
Katherine Andrinopoulos is an assistant professor at the Tulane
School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine. Talk presented by
Global Health Leaders Across Multicultural Women (GLAM), an

Krav Maga Self-Defense Training
Tuesdays, 7:30 pm
Tulane Hillel
Free Krav Maga lessons with a certified instructor every Tuesday night
at 7:30pm at Hillel on Broadway. Krav Maga is a form of self-defense
used to train the Israeli army. It emphasizes threat neutralization with
simultaneous defensive and offensive maneuvers. All students are

Kristin Goos Richmond, founded Revolution Foods in 2005 with Kirsten
Tobey to transform the way kids eat. Revolution Foods delivers
tasty and healthy meals and nutrition education to schools and programs
across the country. The organization now serves 600+ lunchrooms
and over 120,000 meals each day to students across 9 states and employs
more than 750 community members. They are leading the conversation on
childhood health and improving the lives of hundreds of thousands
of students every single day. Richmond’s work focuses on creating
sustainable solutions which allow current and future generations of
youth to obtain equal access to healthy food, education and career
opportunities.
Mission Mardi Gras: Get The Most Out Of This Year's Mardi Gras, Presented by TASC

The Tulane Academic Success Center (TASC) presents "Mission Mardi Gras,"
a workshop designed for students by students about how to get the most
of this year's Mardi Gras experience. Come eat king cake, map out where
to stand, what to eat, and what concerts to go while playing our Mardi
Gras Game of Life! Join us in Room 206 of the Science and Engineering
Building (above TASC, formerly the Tutoring Center) on Monday February
