Captain Price, a native of the Washington, D. C. area, graduated from Grambling State University, Grambling, Louisiana, in 1983, with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and was commissioned an Ensign through Officer Candidate School, Newport, Rhode Island in July 1985.
Captain Price’s sea duty assignments commenced on board USS Manitowoc (LST-1180), where he served as Auxiliaries/Electrical Officer and Assistant First Lieutenant. Subsequent sea duty tours included: USS Wasp (LHD-1) Main Propulsion Assistant; USS Nitro (AE-23) First Lieutenant; and Executive Officer of USS Arctic (AOE-8). Captain Price also served as Chief Staff Officer for Commander, Amphibious Squadron SIX. From August 2003 until October 2005 he was Commanding Officer (HSV-2) SWIFT.
Duties ashore include Training Program Coordinator for Engineering, Damage Control, and Fire Fighting on the staff of Commander, Training Command, U.S. Atlantic Fleet and NATO Director for Coalition Warrior Interoperability Demonstration (CWID) on the staff of NATO Allied Command, Transformation. Captain Price is currently the Professor for Naval Science at Tulane University, New Orleans, Louisiana.
Captain Price received his master's degree in Information Systems from the Naval Postgraduate School, Monterey, California. Additionally he graduated from the Marine Corps Command and Staff College, Quantico, Virginia and the Joint Forces Staff College, Norfolk, Virginia.
Personal decorations include, Joint Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medal, Navy Achievement Medal and various service medals and unit awards.
