COURSES
MCOM 301 Management Communication**
Prerequisites: ENGL 101 or ENLS 119 ; junior standing or above Emphasizing a
problem-solution approach, MCOM 301 teaches students to produce professional
written documents and oral presentations; to analyze various communication
purposes, strategies, and audiences; and to work effectively in teams. Some
sections of this course will satisfy one of the University's public service
requirements and will provide an additional public service credit.
MCOM 301 Management Communication (Honors Option)
Prerequisites: ENGL 101 or ENLS 119 ; junior standing or above
This option is open to Tulane Honors Program students. Students enrolled in this
section of the course must complete additional assignments and requirements.

MCOM 302 Advanced Managerial Communication
Prerequisite: MCOM 301
Corporate communication is the centralized management of communication
highlighting a company's competitiveness, productivity, and financial success.
With real-world examples, the class will explore areas of employee
communication, investor relations, media relations and government relations.
Students will analyze poor business decisions, leaked memos, unfair treatment by
the press, and negative rumors, as well as, offer practical solutions to the
communication error. Thereby proving reputation management is the key to any
successful corporate communication.
