INTRODUCTION
Newcomb-Tulane College has administrative oversight for the full-time
undergraduate experience and the common core curriculum. Newcomb-Tulane
College comprises all full-time undergraduate programs at the university,
including those in architecture, business, liberal arts, public health and tropical
medicine, and science and engineering. All prospective undergraduate students
apply to Newcomb-Tulane College for admission. A student designates a major
no later than the beginning of the fourth semester. After the selection of a major,
the student continues to be a Newcomb-Tulane College student as well as a
student in the school in which the major resides. For example, a student who
majors in cell and molecular biology is in the School of Science and Engineering
and Newcomb-Tulane College.
