Women's studies is an interdisciplinary program that encourages students to
engage fully in the major activities of a liberal arts education--reading, writing,
thinking and remembering--in order to consider how women's lives differ
because of race, class, region, religion, age, sexual orientation, historical period,
and cultural context.
The program of study recognizes the legacy of Newcomb College as a coordinate
