The Real World Analysis is a practical learning session for PANDA.  The exercise is based in Eastern Kenya and is designed to apply the skills that PANDA has taught throughout the learning package for planning a nutrition-relevant program. Try to use the analysis skills you have learned to answer the following questions. If a little help is necessary, just use the HOT button to see how it might be done.

 

    Question ONE:

Prepare a situation descriptive analysis report including descriptive statistics:

Prevalence of malnutrition

Education

Health Access

Care Practices

SES

Environmental characteristics

 

      Question TWO:

Practice looking at interactions by determining if there will be a bigger effect of improving breastfeeding practices in the poor and also determining if promotion of contraceptives is only effective for literate mothers?

 

        Question THREE:

Assess the current program coverage and show any needed changes in targeting for Eastern Kenya

                                                                        Healthcare (e.g. immunization)

                                                                        Access to care

                                                                        Care practices

  Question FOUR:

Make a model for the current child feeding practices and compare this and make recommendations based on the recommended feeding schedule from WHO.
