You can say a brief word here about your institution. If visitors would like more information, they can email Dr. Bertrand or another school official just by clicking on the link.
You can begin with a description of your institution here. After mentioning your layout for classrooms, laboratories, and offices, it may be tempting to post a photograph of the school or even a copy of the architectural layout. Unfortunately, graphics eat up more space, and more importantly, more downloading time, than any other web page element. If you have a server with a slow connection speed (low bandwidth), putting up pictures, audio files, movie clips, or even ornamental borders and backgrounds will only lead to headaches and frustration as your visitors find that your site takes three and a half weeks to open.
You can list your departments to give an at-a-glance view of your school's main areas of study and specialties. The listed departments can even be links to their own pages. For example, click on "chemistry" to visit the chemistry homepage.
List all of your faculty members here, or only department chairs if you prefer. Again, any names that you list here may be used as links to their own pages.
