Being a premed is more like a state of mind, a plan, or a desire. Absolutely nothing official needs to be done until the junior year when your "composite biomedical appraisal" (reference packet) needs to be assembled.

However, by being aware of medical school requirements and by starting coursework and extracurricular activities now, you can avoid the heartache that poor planning and preparation will bring.

Here helpful staff and advisors will provide advice and counsel that should smooth your way to medical school. Through this office, you may:

get the Freshman PREMED packet, a handout that is packed with information
join the Pre-Med Society, an organization of like-minded individuals who help each other to achieve their goal
get on the premed email list to receive notices of talks, seminars, opportunities, parties, and other events of interest to pre-meds.
