This site is primarily for people traveling to France, but it also offers many facts about French culture and explains how life in France is different from life in America. The section entitled La Vraie France may be most helpful for those in need of a quick overview of travel in France, with topics such as hotels and restaurants.

French-American Aid For Children Inc.
This is the website for a non-profit organization dedicated to the welfare of children in France and America. The group lends itself to supporting projects on health and education in these two countries. This site is beneficial because it gives information on many French and American charities and also allows its visitors to make contributions to their organization.

UNICEF
This is the website for UNICEF, an organization that protects children's rights through shaping policies regarding children and supplying services and supplies. The statistics page for France is helpful for those looking for information such as population, nutrition, and education rates.

France Diplomatie
This is the website for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It has information on many different aspects of French life, including foreign policy, education, and media. This site may be helpful for those interested in French government and foreign affairs.

The Art of Living in Toulouse: Schools and Education
This is a website for a volunteer organization called Americans in Toulouse that is dedicated to helping the English speaking community in Toulouse. This section of the site is about the French school system, and includes descriptions of French educational values, the grading system, and many other miscellaneous topics. This site would be very helpful for someone whose child is entering the French school system or who is interested in finding information on schools in France.

French Culture.org
This is the website for the Cultural Services of the French Embassy. The site provides information for Americans concerning French art, literature, media, education, and many other topics. This would be a useful site for those researching any aspect of French culture.

Discover France
This is the education section of the Discover France website. It covers many aspects of education, including educational structure, government policies, and statistics. Each section of this site goes into great detail and would be incredibly helpful for anyone in need of information on French education.


The purpose of this web site is to provide web users with information on the social status of children in France. This site was designed by Jill Ulicny, Kacie Hovell, and Clare Harpham as part of a collaborative web project for the first year writing seminar Children and Society, at Tulane University taught by Professor April Brayfield.
