Children in Ireland

Irish Flag

When people think of Ireland they typically think of St. Patrick's Day, shamrocks, Catholic culture, or things along those lines.  Most people do not think of children, or know very much about their status in Ireland. This website is set up in order to explain their role within society, how they are viewed, and what is being done to improve their lives.

Children in Ireland have a very good life.  They are part of a country based on culture and tradition that genuinely cares for them.  The government is begining to be much more involved in children's lives, but there is still a long way to go. Families in Ireland are very strong and considered an important aspect of life.  Children take an active role within their families and contribute in many ways.  Children in Ireland have very good lives and are cared for by the government as well as their families and schools.

We would like to thank our country consultant, Dr. Dympna Devine, for taking her time to help us develop an understanding of the status of children in Ireland.  We also would like to thanks Profesor April Brayfield for all of her help and guidance throughout this project and the development of our website.

This website was created in less than two months, by four college freshman, Bernelta Andrew, David Baum, Jamie McGrew, and Jillian Walsh, from Tulane University, not profesional researchers. We used prior research and other sources by experts to make conclusions and create this site about the status of children in Ireland.
