Other Work/Family Policies

Social welfare programs are carried out locally and are individually shaped for a person's special needs. Some policies designed uniquely for low-income and/or single parent families include:

  • Low-income expecting mothers can get a 20% supplement to the standard rate of allowances starting in their 12th week of pregnancy.
  • Single parents who have one child 6 or younger, or two children 15 or younger can get a 40% supplement to the standard rate of allowances.
