House of Representatives
The Netherlands is a parliamentary democracy.  Once every four years, Du
tch citizens have the opportunity to elect people to represent them in Parliament.  Parliament's duties include making new laws with the Government and consist of The Senate (Eerste Kamar de Staten-Generaal) and the House of Representatives (Tweede kamer der Staten-Generaal).   The House of Representatives in particular plays an important role in policy-making.

Government of The Netherlands
This is a great resource for exploring more aspects of Dutch life.  It provides links to departmental websites, other government institutions and information about the Netherlands.  In addition it shows Dutch news headlines and press releases from various ministries.

Ministry of Education, Culture, and Science
The current Minister for Education, Culture and Science is Janneke Marlene van Bijstervelft-Vliegenthart.  This website offers information about the Dutch education system in addition to Dutch policy on education, culture and science.  The website reports key figures for education and practical schooling information.

Netherlands Youth Institute
The Netherlands Youth Institute was developed to conduct scientific research on children and youth matters such as youth care, parenting support and child education.  It provides fact sheets, databases and general information on Dutch youth policy.  The aim of the institute is to improve the services rendered to children and young people and thus improve physical, cognitive, mental and social development.
