| SAFER offers help to any community member in New Orleans who has been displaced
and who owns a home that was damaged by Hurricane Katrina. While the criteria to get help from
SAFER is not very stringent, homeowners should recognize that the scope of work offered by our volunteer service is limited and that the wait period is often several weeks or months due to limited numbers of volunteers.
SAFER offers gutting and mold treatment services at no cost as well as a variety of at-cost rebuilding projects.
