Grants
What can the grants be used for?
SCAMeL research grants help fund studies on topics important
to health sciences libraries in the SCC region. "Research" is
broadly defined and can encompass any form of investigation
of a service or program, including surveys, evaluation methods,
or other types of studies.
Am I eligible?
Anyone who meets the following qualifications may apply for a grant:
Holds a graduate degree in library science.
Is a practicing biomedical librarian in the SCAMeL region
(Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and New Mexico).
Is a member of SCC/MLA.
Is a citizen or permanent resident of the U.S. and resides in the region.
How much money can I get?
One-year grants from $1,000-$5,000 may be awarded
When are proposals due?
Proposal deadlines are January 30 and July 1 each year.

Can I get help writing a grant?
