History

MWANGAZA is a local NGO group comprised of four members arising from the "Technical Support Program in Communities for Health." They have worked with reforestation, nurseries, and literacy programs with the cooperation of 18 village groups. Additionally, they have assisted with the pre-service training of 40 Peace Corps volunteers in the management of village health centers.

Goals

• Launch the "Regional CLUSA Program for the Support of Community Health Initiative" in July 1997.
• Assist women's groups develop profitable enterprises in collaboration with the West African Development Bank.

• Decentralization of health education systems
• Promotion of small, profitable enterprises
• Management of natural resources and agriculture
