Good Reasons to Attend Tulane Summer School

earn college credits and still have a summer vacation
The Tulane Summer School offers fourteen sessions. Five and six-week sessions are available in both early and late summer, allowing you to take a course and still have time for a summer vacation.

save money
Tuition for non-School of Continuing Studies courses during the 2009 summer is $2,625 per three-credit course, approximately a thousand dollars less than tuition during the spring and fall semesters. Tuition for School of Continuing Studies students is $819 per three-credit course. The flexibility of daytime and evening classes also allows you to schedule courses around a summer job. Reily Student Recreation Center membership is discounted for summer students.

take that hard-to-get course
Courses that fill up early during the academic year are often easier to get into during the summer. Sign up for those popular courses essential for your major, explore new subjects for personal enrichment, or try a course that might open new career opportunities.

enroll in more courses
Since the summer sessions are not considered a semester, the usual rule limiting School of Continuing Studies students to 13 credit hours does not apply. However, students are discouraged from taking more than two courses in any one session. Consult your academic adviser if you have any questions.
