Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA)
Mission Statement:
To provide trained community volunteers to advocate for the best interest of children who come to the attention of the court primarily as a result of abuse or neglect.
Description:
CASA is a non-profit agency that trains volunteers to serve as Court Appointed Special Advocates. CASA volunteers represent the best interests of abused and neglected children in juvenile court, helping them to find a safe, permanent home as soon as possible.
National CASA has also received support from the Kappa Alpha Theta Foundation since 1989. This international women's fraternity selected CASA as its philanthropy and has provided funds for a variety of projects, including start-up grants and a public awareness video.
