Welcome!
It is with genuine pleasure that the Staff Advisory Council welcomes you to Tulane University and our Tulane family. Under the direction of President Scott Cowen, you're now a part of one of the most prestigious Universities in our country today. The purpose of the Staff Advisory Council is to gather concerns and productive ideas from the staff and provide a means of communication between the staff and the administration. The Staff Advisory Council functions as a voice of the staff throughout the Tulane Community and acts in their behalf. We're the only staff assembly that is recognized by the administration. The Staff Advisory Council consists of five officers, an appointed parliamentarian, four members-at-large, 15 representatives serving the Uptown District, 13 serving the Downtown District, 2 serving the North Shore District, and ex-officio members from the administration. The Council also has three voting members on the University Senate and is an invited guest to the Board of Administrators' meetings. The Council has voting seats on various Senate Subcommittees, such as the Benefits Committee, where staff representation actually exceeds faculty. Your active participation in the Staff Advisory Council is very important in making Tulane the best workplace possible. The Staff Advisory Council welcomes input from the entire Tulane Community. If you are interested in serving on the Council, please contact our Election Coordinator, Rhonda Earles, at rearles@tulane.edu. If you would like to share your ideas, concerns or questions, please contact your Staff Advisory Council representative or use one of the methods listed below:
