MSW Program: Advanced Standing Program
Tulane School of Social Work

Applicants who have earned a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) degree within the past five (5) years from a Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) Accredited program may be granted Advanced Standing, enabling them to qualify for a Master of Social Work (MSW) in three (3) semesters of Full-Time study. In addition to the preferred grade point average of 3.0 or better on a 4-point scale in all undergraduate substantive courses, Advanced Standing applicants must also have at least a B+ average in their field practicum.

While Advanced Standing students enroll in the spring semester to complete a 45-hour MSW program, all applicants must submit their application for admission by March 31st of the previous year.

Applicants who will not complete their undergraduate program until after the March 31st deadline must abide by the same time frame; however, their acceptance will be provisional upon the basis of their successful completion of the undergraduate program and submission of proof of a confirmed undergraduate degree.

The above information is intended as a guide only. The Tulane School of Social Work's curricula and courses are under constant review and are subject to change without notice. Please consult with TSSW's Internal Registrar, Ms. Bonnie Lister (blrl@tulane.edu) for complete and current information.
