Casino Resort Studies

The Casino Resort Studies Program prepares students for successful and productive management roles in a range of professional careers in the rapidly growing casino resort industry. It encourags the full personal and professional development of those students who it serves. The program is committed to providing educational learning opportunities that teach our students how to think critically and strategically, and prepare them for leadership in the dynamic casino resort industry.

The Casino Resort Studies program pursues this mission by providing students with an interdisciplinary education as it relates to the casino resort industry, in such areas as casino operations, accounting, marketing, finance, leadership, hotel operations, human resources, food and beverage, addictive behavior, and legal and regulatory issues. It cultivates an enviornment that focuses on the generation of new knowledge via teaching, learning, research, and interaction with the industry and community. It teaches students to act and lead with integrity, sensitivity, and wisdom. The curriculum concentrates its resources on programs that are student centered, superior in content and responsive to the needs of the local, regional and global casino resort industry. It also prepares students to continue educational pursuits, and encourages life-long learning and community service.
