The Louisiana Real Estate Commission Licensing exam

Any student wishing to qualify for one of the Louisiana Real Estate Licensing Examinations should contact the Real Estate Commission in Baton Rouge at (800) 821-4529 or (225) 925-4788 to get a complete copy of the examination requirements and information. The requirements may change and not be reflected on this site.

In the listing, choose "Include" under School of Continuing Studies Course Offerings, your program from the Course Subject Area, and the campus you prefer, if applicable.

Students who wish to qualify for the Louisiana Real Estate Salesman's Licensing Examination must complete a minimum of 90 contact hours of coursework (equivalent to nine credits or three real estate courses) in the following:

Real Estate Salesperson Requirements	Credits
REAL 2320 Principles and Practices of Real Estate	3
Two Real Estate (REAL) electives	6
Total	9

Students who are interested in qualifying for the Louisiana Real Estate Broker's License Examination must complete a minimum of 150 contact hours (equivalent to 15 credit hours) in the following:

Real Estate Broker Requirements	Credits
REAL 2320 Principles and Practices of Real Estate	3
Four Real Estate (REAL) electives	12
Total	15

Other business courses may substitute for the broker's requirements. For the most current information concerning real estate licensing, students should consult the Real Estate Commission in Baton Rouge at (800) 821-4529 or (225) 925-4788.

NOTE: These courses are subject to the nine-course (27 credit) limit on business, management and related courses.
