SOCIAL MEDIA POLICY
Tulane University School of Continuing Studies welcomes the community’s contributions to its Facebook and LinkedIn pages and has proposed
the following rules of engagement below. Please note that by utilizing these platforms, you agree to the rules outlined below.
Please note that any contributions such as posts, comments, photo tags, etc. by members of the community are the opinion of the specific author
and do not represent the views of Tulane University SCS.
Tulane University SCS abides by Facebook’s Statement of Rights
and Responsibilities and asks its Facebook Fans to do the same. In particular, please do not “post unauthorized commercial solicitations
(such as spam),” “bully, intimidate, or harass any user,” “post content that is hateful, threatening, pornographic, or that contains nudity or graphic
or gratuitous violence” or “unlawful, misleading, malicious, or discriminatory” on the Tulane University SCS Facebook Page.
Tulane University SCS reserves the right, but is not obligated, to remove comments that contain commercial solicitations; are factually erroneous/libelous;
are wildly off-topic; that otherwise violate the terms as stated above and on Facebook’s Statement of Rights and Responsibilities. We encourage all users to utilize
“Report” links when they find abusive content as well.
The spirit of this policy extends to comments posted on the Tulane University SCS LinkedIn profile and other social media as deemed relevant.

While Tulane University SCS reserves the right to post information about course offerings, as well as news, information and updates that pertain to current
or prospective students, faculty and staff, please note that the following should be considered before posts are created and/or shared on the social media platforms mentioned
While Tulane University SCS will share information disseminated by Tulane University and it’s various departments and services including but not limited
to Health Services, Reily Student Recreation Center and the Bookstore, please note that Tulane SCS students are not eligible for all the same services as full time students.
Please note that it is your responsibility to check to make sure you are eligible for any and all services.
- Protect confidential and proprietary information: Do not post confidential or proprietary information about Tulane SCS
or its students, employees or alumni. Employees must follow the applicable federal requirements such as FERPA, HIPAA and NCAA regulations. Adhere to all applicable university privacy and confidentiality policies.
- Respect copyright, trademark, logo and fair use: Be mindful of the copyright and intellectual property rights of others and of the

- Strive for accuracy: Get the facts straight before posting them on social media. Review content for grammatical and spelling errors.
