Louisiana born Tulane graduate, Constance Pochontas, taught in New York and New Orleans and, during World War II, worked in an army hospital in California. After the war, she worked in Washington with agencies providing relief to war refugees. Later, she spent fifteen years in Ireland and Europe, returning to the United States in 1972. She resumed her education, first through a correspondence program and then at the graduate program at Brandeis University.
