A note about the registration fee structure... Some of you have (rightly) inquired as to why conference registration for presenters is more costly than registration for folks simply "attending" the conference. As is common practice among academic associations, professional, graduate student, and independent presenters are required to become members of the South Central Women's Studies Association. That membership fee is $20 per year. Nobody is getting rich or going for conference meeting dinners at Commander's Palace on this money -- it is dedicated to covering association overhead and the costs of producing and perpetuating the conference. We have waived the membership fee for undergraduate and high-school-age presenters.
