We Walked, We Smiled, We Shivered, We...Served Beer?

The Newcomb College volunteer team for the 1996 Revlon Run/Walk for Women's Health arrived at City Park at 6:45 on the cold, windy, overcast morning of Saturday, November 2. Once outfitted in official T-Shirts, Team Newcomb was directed to its post at the beer truck (Photo [left to right]: Professor April Brayfield, who also participated in the event in support of her mother; Joan Kay; Eliza Long, Newcomb Freshman Class President; Margaret King, Director of Newcomb Programs; and Dean Mary Ann McGuire). Inside Tad Gormley Stadium, Susan Tucker, Crystal Kile, Melissa Heckman, and Kristen Calonico womanned the Center's booth and passed out information about our programs. It was great to see so many cancer survivors participatinf "in support of MYSELF!" The Center was one of ten local beneficiaries of the event.
