FAMILY AND MEDICAL LEAVE
After one year of employment, employees are eligible for one semester of unpaid leave per year for the birth or adoption of a child, to care for a seriously ill family member or to care for the employee’s own serious health condition.
Coverage is effective as of the date of hire for eligible employees. Employees have a choice between three plans with varying coverage options under United Healthcare (Choice Plus/Open Access Plan). Coverage for eligible dependents is available at the employee’s expense.
Allows an employee to use pre-tax dollars to pay for other eligible medical expenses, which are not paid by medical insurance and childcare expenses.
LIFE INSURANCE
Tulane provides Group Life Insurance coverage for employees and dependents. Coverage for employee is one and one half (1-1/2) times employees annual salary (including retirement plan contributions) up to a maximum benefit of $50,000. Additional life insurance coverage through the Voluntary Term Life plan is available at the employee’s expense.
Coverage is effective as of the date of hire. Following three months disability, the plan provides 66-2/3% of monthly income up to a maximum of $8,000 per month. The monthly premium is based on the employee’s salary and deducted from the employee’s paycheck.
Faculty members are eligible after two years employment at more than 50% of full-time. The university contributes to either the TIAA-CREF or to Fidelity Investments.
