NEW-hire faculty Orientation: ELIGIBILITY

All new faculty/Out of state staff need to complete I-9 forms on their first day at work and this should be signed in the presence of a Tulane University representative. Please read the instructions below.

On Your First day at work (this may be different from your official hire date):

  All faculty who are U.S. Citizens, permanent residents of the United States, and foreign nationals with Employment Authorization cards must complete and sign an I-9 Employment Eligibility Form in the Workforce Management Organization Office, and must present the original documentation which will be used to complete the form at that time. This office is located at 200 Broadway, Suite 120, and is open from 8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
  All Foreign National employees holding a J1 or H1B visa status must complete their I-9 Employment Eligibility Form at the Office for International Students and Scholars (OISS) within the first three days of employment. The OISS is located at Tate House, Uptown Campus. OISS link
  All Foreign National new faculty will be sent an e-mail link for them to complete their International Tax information. This email will be sent within the first three days of employment to their Tulane e-mail account.

A Faculty New Hire will not be eligible to start employment if they do not submit their employment and payroll paperwork within 3 days of their hire date and/or they fail to bring essential original documentation when they attend on their first day at work.
